Web development
Web development is building the site a brand actually operates on: fast to load, possible for a search engine to understand, accessible, and editable by the client's own team without a developer. CIMA designs and builds these in Kuwait City, and because the same studio usually produced the identity and the photography, the site ships with real content rather than placeholders.
What we do
We build for performance and search from the first commit rather than auditing them in afterwards, because both are architectural and neither retrofits cheaply. Bilingual Arabic and English is designed for from the start, since right-to-left support added later means revisiting nearly every layout decision. What is handed over is a site with a content system the client's team can run, not a dependency on us.
- Design and front-end build
- Content management the client's team can operate
- Performance and Core Web Vitals
- Technical SEO foundations and structured data
- Accessibility
- Bilingual Arabic and English, right-to-left ready
- Analytics and conversion tracking
- Deployment, hosting setup and handover
How it runs
- 01
Scope
What the site is for, what it has to do, and what it must not become.
- 02
Architecture
Content model, URL structure and the editing experience.
- 03
Design
Interface design against the brand, at every breakpoint.
- 04
Build
Front end, content system, performance and search foundations together.
- 05
Handover
Training, documentation and an account the client owns.
When it is the right call
- A site that looks acceptable and loads slowly enough to lose people
- A rebuild where existing search visibility must survive the migration
- Needing a bilingual Arabic and English site that works properly in both
- A team that cannot update its own website without raising a ticket
In Kuwait and the Gulf
A site serving six GCC markets in two languages raises decisions most builds get wrong: whether Arabic is a separate site or a locale, how right-to-left is handled at the CSS level rather than by mirroring images, and whether a market genuinely needs its own pages. Usually it does not, and building six near-identical country sections creates a search problem rather than solving one.
Web development, asked and answered
- What does a web development company actually do?
- It designs and builds the site, sets up the system the client edits it in, and makes it fast, accessible and possible for search engines to understand. The parts that get skipped most often are performance, search foundations and handover, and all three are much more expensive to add later than to build in.
- What drives the cost of a website?
- We do not publish rates. What moves the number is the number of distinct page types rather than pages, whether content and photography exist or have to be produced, whether it is bilingual, what it has to integrate with, and how much of it the client's team needs to edit themselves. A brochure site and a site with a product catalogue and a booking flow are different projects.
- Will we be able to update it ourselves?
- That is the intent, and we treat it as a requirement rather than a feature. A site whose owner cannot change a headline without a developer stops being updated, and a site that stops being updated stops ranking.
- Do you support Arabic?
- Yes, and it is designed for from the start rather than added at the end. Retrofitting right-to-left means revisiting almost every layout decision in a build, which is why it is cheap at the beginning and expensive later.
